Set in the suburb of Melrose, a short stroll from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg, The Peech is a truly boutique hotel with just sixteen bedrooms spread across a lush garden. The Peech was originally a private residence built in the 1950s. When discovered by James Peech, the property had only changed hands once and had been a family home, in a chic residential area of Johannesburg, for over 40 years. The original part of the property, the main house, has two 'House Rooms'. The remaining guest rooms are spread around the hotel’s lush gardens as 'Garden Rooms' and 'Garden Suites'. The Peech is located in Melrose, a chic suburb within 10 minutes reach of the business and shopping nodes of the city. Sandton, the city's business hub, is ten minutes away. Rosebank (with nearest Gautrain) & Melrose Arch are five minutes. Johannesburg International airport is 45 minutes by car. The hotel is opposite the James Gray Park and adjacent to the Wanderers International Cricket Stadium. Our bistro overlooks the hotel’s landscaped gardens. It features sandstone floors, deep leather couches, and a walk-in wine cellar. We host regular wine evenings with South African wine estates. The hotel features two fully-equipped meeting rooms. Our boardroom seats up to 16 guests and can also be converted into a private dining room. For smaller numbers, our Green Room seats up to 7 and offers a unique setting for more intimate gatherings.
